I'd also like to be able to use Atmos or other high-quality audio without the delays like in the Plex App. Dolby Surround is the only audio format that the receiver plays in games. I'm wanting to be able to use Dolby Atmos and/or a lossless audio format instead of just Dolby Surround in games. The user manual for the NR6100 shows support for Atmos on a 5.1 system. Dolby states Atmos will work on a 5.1 system. However, the receiver doesn't show Atmos is playing on any of those games even after I setup and configure Atmos. I have Gears 5, Borderlands 3, and Halo Infinite all of which support Atmos audio. Another issue is Atmos audio only plays through the demos on the Atmos app. However, if I setup and enable Dolby Atmos on my PC then then try to play an Atmos demo video through the Atmos app, I see the same audio delay I do with Plex.
The audio delay doesn't happen in gaming or videos from my PC. I have my PC plugged into the "Game" port of the NR6100. In contrast, Plex shows input audio as Dolby for the videos on Plex.
The audio doesn't have any delay if I use Plex on my PC, but the input audio is PCM and not dolby. The audio delay happens when I start or pause the video. I'm watching stuff I ripped from blu ray and 4K HDR blu ray. The behavior I see is the receiver menu doesn't seem to show any input audio then the receiver shows DD playing. The audio is in sync with the video though, so the issue isn't lip sync. The issue is the audio has a three to five second delay before the audio starts playing whenever I play a video. I'm using the Plex App on the CX to watch movies and TV shows on my local PC that has Plex Media Server installed. I've ensured the eARC setting is on in the CX and audio is set to passthrough. A certified ultra-high speed HDMI cable connects the eARC port on the CX and to the 8k HDMI out port on the NR6100. This area seemed the most relevant one for the issues below.Ĭan someone help me to determine why the Plex App on the LG CX TV has a 4 to 5 second audio delay?
